Job Change
Two weeks have passed since I "completed my move" (this expression is probably more appropriate for transfer of soccer players) to my new job at Eon Technologies. It was a tough decision, since this was my first job switch. I had more than 4 years working for my ex-company.
I guess my decision was partially based on the pattern Joel Spolsky, followed by working for 4 years for 3 companies (well, he is THE MAN that influenced me most as a developer). In fact, I did not search actively for a new job, though I kept this idea in the back of my mind. But when the chance came, I took it, recognizing that this is a great chance to grow professionally.
Currently, I am actually not working in the offices of my new employer, but in those of another software company, that we partner with in the current project. The team is small, but I can see we have the knowledge and the skills to produce quality in every aspect of the project. The challenge is to work effectively together, help each other, prioritize well and keep focused. The deadlines seem a bit tough, but I hope that we will not sacrifice quality for time (I mean source code quality) . I know, that often one has to do it, but I feel quite uneasy when doing it...
